Rhodochrosite 'Shells' (Wutong Mine, Guangxi, China) - 425_RC2

SGD 219.20
Only 1 available

1.8 × 1.8 × 0.5cm

These are the famous Wutong Mine Rhodochrosite 'shells' or 'petals' that I got from the Shanghai Mineral Show this year. Rhodochrosite from China was found in several large finds over the last 20 years at Wutong (sometimes spelled Wudong), in Guangxi. Each find, each year, seems to have produced slightly different crystal habits — discs, rhombohedral, tight clusters or spaced crystals.

This specimen comprises of two perfect shells overlapping, with a small third imperfect shell at the bottom.

These are usually quite expensive and hard to find, but we have done our best to maintain as low a price as possible!
