Shangaan Amethyst (Mateke, Zimbabwe) - SA3

SGD 28.00
Sold Out

About this Specimen:

Intensely purple amethyst with clear quartz segment and red hematoid inclusions, half-point.

———

Shangaan Amethysts are a gorgeous blend of Amethyst, clear quartz and smoky quartz, commonly have hematite inclusions and are usually in a scepter form.

Coming from Mateke, Zimbabwe, they were named after the Shangaan Tribe by my supplier, who is the only person with a contract with them.

They are ethically mined by the Shangaan tribe in Zimbabwe, who take great pride in protecting the environment while sharing their treasures with the world. If a tree is cut, 5 more must be planted. If a hole is dug, it must be refilled.

“Shangaan amethysts were kept by our ancestors. They were protecting it for us to use now.” (Chief Gezani, 2019)

In getting these pieces, we are supporting a tribe that still preserves its traditional ways, whilst helping them to protect their land.

For every $15 spent, we will plant 1 tree to offset the carbon cost of mining, shipping and packaging crystals. These are real and natural products, and so might have some flaws or imperfections. We have done our best to pick the best pieces available, but nature is often imperfectly perfect. Therefore, please only make the purchase if you are alright with this.
