Rossmanite (Tanco Mine, Bernic Lake, Lac-du-Bonnet area, Manitoba, Canada) - 0324_R_C1

SGD 80.00

68 x 48mm

Rossmanite is a relatively new crystal species that was first discovered in 1996, in the Czech Republic. It was named after George R. Rossman, a geologist who did a lot of work on spectroscopy of the tourmaline-group minerals.

Aside from its original mine in the Czech Republic, the Tanco Mine is the only other verified source of Rossmanites.

When it was first found in the Tanco Mine, an unnaturally large specimen was present - over 1 metre long! A small segment was removed for testing purposes, and discovered to be Rossmanite. Alas, when the geologists returned, the large specimen was missing, mined by someone else, and only a few tiny specimens were left behind.

These are quite rare, and normally you get only one single tourmaline at a time. These specimens have multiple tourmalines in them, which should make the price go crazy, but we got lucky with them, which means you guys are lucky too! 😎

For every $15 spent, we will plant 1 tree to offset the carbon cost of mining, shipping and packaging crystals. These are real and natural products, and so might have some flaws or imperfections. We have done our best to pick the best pieces available, but nature is often imperfectly perfect. Therefore, please only make the purchase if you are alright with this.
