Vanadinite on Barite (Mibladen, Midelt, Morocco) - 1225_VBM1
About this Specimen:
58 × 32 × 68mm
Crystal Weight: 140g
Weight (with base): 160g
———
This is a very, very stunning, collection of ochre and orange-red hexagonal prisms of vanadinite on bladed clusters of barite.
The hexagonal prisms of vanadinite are lustrous, intensely coloured, and sooooo sparkly!
By the way, if you're wondering why some vanadinites are so red and others so dull and brown, it has to do with light. Vanadinites chemically-react to light, and become dull and brown as a result. These reactions are permanent, and cannot be reversed. So do not put your Vanadinites next to windows, and they are best kept in cabinets without light bulbs. ⚠️⚠️⚠️
