Iridescent Chalcopyrite - IC2

SGD 35.00
Only 1 available

These iridescent chalcopyrite specimens are very special because they are untreated! I say that like it's unusual but the reality is that most suppliers would brush acid over the chalcopyrite pieces, to bring out a blue to purple tone, which is supposedly more popular. I like it in its natural state.

"Chalco" means Copper, and "Pyrites" means striking fire, because these pieces were used in ancient times to start fires by striking them against other chalcopyrite pieces.

Chalcopyrite is not the same as pyrite - their chemical compositions are very different. As a result, Chalcopyrite has a more brassy-gold colour than pyrite, and is a much softer material. The irisdescence in these specimens are the result of tarnishing, because of weathering or oxidation.

Isn't nature amazing??

Metaphysically, it is believed to relieve stress and increase business success.

For every $15 spent, we will plant 1 tree to offset the carbon cost of mining, shipping and packaging crystals.

These are real and natural products, and so might have some flaws or imperfections. We have done our best to pick the best pieces available, but nature is often imperfectly perfect. Therefore, please only make the purchase if you are alright with this.
