This is a beautiful double-terminated calcite! On each end, the mushroom-cap disc is gorgeously textured with chevrons all reaching towards the apex.
There are also broken and rough quartz pieces attached. Inside, there is a lot of iron-rich clay inclusions, which is why there are streaks of gold.
The surface is perfectly imperfect, revealing its history whereby the crystallisation process was interrupted multiple times. A properly hefty piece.
