Super Colour 'AAA' Grade Charoite free-form tablet!

Charoite is named after the Chara River that runs through Siberia. It is a Unisource crystal that was discovered in the 1940s. However, it was only made known to the world in 1978. This is because when you mine raw charoite, the surface of the charoite is mostly opaque and unattractive. The surface texture can also be quite off putting to some people. However, by cutting into charoite and polishing it up a bit, its pearlescent luster will revealed.

I have a soft spot for charoite because I really love the unusual swirling and fibrous chatoyance. Kinda like why I love pietersite and seraphinite as well. There’s something mysterious and magical about it, which is also where it gets its name from – the Russian word chary means magic or charms.

Charoite comes in many shades of purples and pinks. Ours comprise of both dark and lilac oily swirls, with patches of pink, and just the tiniest bit of black aegirine to give it depth and dimension.
