Calcite & Franklinite (Sterling Hill Mine, New Jersey, USA) - 425_WFU3

SGD 43.44
Only 1 available

About this specimen:
96.5g
3.3 × 2.2 × 6.7cm

———

Calcite, Willemite and Franklinite Specimens are often referred to as Christmas Tree crystals because under Shortwave-UV, the calcite turns red, the willemite turns green, and the franklinite remains black, making it look like twinkling lights on a Christmas tree.

Unfortunately, we have misplaced our short wave UV torch, and can't definitively show you the intensity of the red of the calcite under short-wave UV. But if you check out the video below, you’ll see how it even reacts a light pink to the regular UV light.

This piece also lacks the classing willemite, thus the lack of green under UV-light.
