These are the rare, sparkly, botryoidal malachite from the Mindingi Mine of Congo.
How rare?
A slightly larger piece is being sold in Paris for €480 🤯
The interesting thing about the Mindingi Mine is that it’s not even famous for these sparkly malachites. Instead, the mine is known for having yielded the first reasonable specimens of cobaltoan calcite (Mindat). But, one thing is for certain - this mine likes things botryoidal and sparkly, be it Cornubite, Heterogenite, and Malachite.
The majority of the malachite from this mine are either fibrous or botryoidal, but botryoidal plus sparkly is another thing entirely.
