Aragonite With Azurite (Afghanistan) - 2312-AA-A2

SGD 29.00
Only 1 available

84x45x27mm

115g

———

A 2-for-1 combination, this specimen comprises of dusty, botryoidal azurite with gemmy aqua green aragonite nestled in between.

Azurite is a soft, deep-blue copper mineral produced by weathering of copper ore deposits. During the early 19th century, it was also known as chessylite, after the type locality at Chessy-les-Mines near Lyon, France. Aragonite is a carbonate mineral and one of the three most common naturally occurring crystal forms of calcium carbonate. This piece has a unique aqua-green aragonite, which is an uncommon colour for the material.
